Are you in the best shape possible before you start a season? If not, you are cheating yourself and your teammates. The saying “Get in shape to play, don’t play to get in shape,” is so true. If you want to be successful in any athletic pursuit it is all about preparation. Put in the time to condition, get strong and powerful, become a weight training fanatic and you won’t believe the difference in your play.

Don’t get caught in the developmental lag; meaning you are years behind on strength training and conditioning in comparison to your competition. Some girls start conditioning programs to enhance athleticism at the age of 7.  Obviously these young girls are not lifting heavy weights, but they can be working on balance, movement, coordination, agility and reaction.  Plus, it does not hurt them to increase strength with light medicine balls, light tubing bands and airballs.  If you want to play competitively in high school or college, you cannot afford not to strength train and get in condition.  Need a strength training program now? Click on "Conditioning Programs" above to view our programs that can be purchased and downloaded right from our site.  Nowhere on the web can these types of programs be found and so easily acquired at such a great price.

In this section you will find a variety of articles on improving your physical as well as mental conditioning. Don’t miss the article, “The Serape Effect in Core Conditioning.” The core is our power center and you may find it interesting that the best way to train the core is from a standing position. If you are looking for information on plyometrics (jump training) or training for power with the Olympic lifts, we have it all for you here.
